Weather and season

What if the weather is bad? The fjord is stunning in all conditions. Cabin and rooms are heated. We advise to use the governmental service YR (link) for weather forecasts.
What is the weather like in Western Norway? The weather here is part of the experience—dramatic, fresh, and ever-changing. The steep mountains and deep fjords create a microclimate where you can experience sunshine, mist, and rain all in one day. This dynamic weather is exactly what keeps the waterfalls powerful and the landscape lush and green.
How warm is the summer? Summer in the fjords is pleasant and refreshing, not stiflingly hot. Average daytime temperatures typically range from 10°C to 20°C (50°F - 70°F). This provides ideal conditions for hiking the steep trails without overheating, and a "coolcation".
What should I pack? Since the weather can shift quickly, the local rule is to dress in layers.
-
Essentials: A wind- and waterproof jacket is a must year-round.
-
Summer: Bring a warm wool sweater for cool evenings by the fjord.
-
Winter: Expect cold, crisp days (often below freezing) requiring thermal layers and good boots.
