Stay
Four ways to sleep by the fjord
From a tent at the waterline to a warm cabin in January. Here is exactly what each one is — and isn't.

Tent
Grass terraces down to the water
Natural grass plateaus step from the road down to the shore. Pitch high for a little shelter, or low where the grass meets the fjord. Every terrace is different; all of them are Nærøyfjorden.
- A few minutes' walk to showers and kitchen
- Fires in designated spots only — grills off the grass
- Sun from about nine to five at midsummer — the cliffs ration the sun, but double as a heat store on sunny days

Campervan & caravan
Gravel pitches, front seats to the fjord
We have built proper van pitches by the fjord — numbered hardstanding along the water. Worth the journey: you get both the view and the quiet. Power at the pitch, drinking-water fill on site. We say it as it is: this is not a landscaped caravan resort, it is a farm shore with the best front row in the fjord. You will find us on park4night too, reviewed by people who drove the road before you.
- No grey-water or cassette disposal on site yet — nearest: ST1 Gudvangen, 4 km
- The Tine milk lorry drives this road all year — a calm driver matters more than the metres
- Book ahead and arrive after 14:00 — the road is at its emptiest, and summer nights sell out

Rooms
Two loft rooms in the service house
Two private loft rooms with a locked entrance, a shared bathroom between them, and a kitchenette in the basement of the building. Simple, heated and clean — a bed by the Nærøyfjord without hotel prices, and without pitching anything.
- Bed linen and towels included
- Best for one to two people per room

The cabin
Floor-to-ceiling fjord, all year
Built in 2019: three bedrooms, four beds, a full kitchen, bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mountains and the water. Self check-in between 16:00 and 22:00. In winter this is the quietest address in the fjord — see the road note for snowy weeks under Getting here.
- Guest favourite — top 10% of homes on Airbnb
- Bed linen included
- Booked and paid through Airbnb only
Prices
What a night costs
Two prices for everything: booked online — which includes the platform's commission and guarantees your spot — or drop-in at reception, slightly cheaper, if there happens to be space. On summer evenings there rarely is.
Camping, per night
| Booked online | Drop-in | |
|---|---|---|
| Campervan, caravan, or tent with car — 2 persons | 475 | 450 |
| Tent, arriving on foot or by bike — 1 person | 325 | 300 |
| Extra adult | +50 | +50 |
| Child 4–16 | +25 | +25 |
| Children under 4 | Free | Free |
| Power, parking and showers | Included | Included |
Loft rooms, per night — 1–2 persons
| Booked online | Drop-in | |
|---|---|---|
| Room with shared bathroom — bed linen and towels included | 1,375 | 1,300 |
All prices in NOK. Campio adds a small service fee at checkout — typically 19–49 NOK, shown before you pay.
A worked example: four adults in a campervan, booked online, is 475 + 50 + 50 + a 23 NOK fee = 598 NOK for the night.
Sauna, boat rental and fjord transport are priced on the Experiences page. The cabin is priced on Airbnb.

Questions about staying
What do the showers cost?
The showers themselves are free; hot water is 20 NOK per 6 minutes, paid by card at the shower. It is genuinely hot, and 6 minutes is more than it sounds.
Can we buy firewood or light a fire?
Fires are welcome at the designated shoreline spots. We don't sell firewood — the national open-fire ban runs 15 April to 15 September, so in season it is the water's-edge fire spots or nothing; ask at reception and we take it case by case.
Is electricity included?
Yes — power at the pitch is included in the campervan price, as are parking and the showers. Hot water is the only thing on a meter: 20 NOK per 6 minutes.
Can I choose my exact pitch?
You book a pitch type on Campio. If the shoreline row matters to you, say so in the booking note and we will do our best — first come, first served on the day.
Where do I empty grey water or the toilet cassette?
Not on site — the shoreline can't take it. The nearest service point is the ST1 station in Gudvangen (formerly Shell), 4 km back, so plan to empty on the way in or out. We are installing our own disposal point during 2026.
Is the cabin really available in winter?
Yes, all year. After heavy snowfall or an avalanche warning the road can close for a day or two — we keep cabin guests posted before arrival. More under Getting here.
